आलेखन स्थान/ PLOTTING POSITION

किसी वार्षिक श्रेणी के आवृत्ति विश्लेषण का उद्देश्य, घटना के परिणाम तथा इसकी संभावित आधिक्वर्ती के मध्य सम्बंध विकसित करना है। किसी अनुभाविक सूत्र के उपयोग द्वारा प्राप्त किसी घटना की आधिक्वर्ती संभावना को उसका आलेखन स्थान कहते है।

The purpose of frequency analysis of an annual series is to obtain a relation between the magnitude of the event and its probability of exceedence. The exceedence probability of the event obtained by the use of an empirical formula is called plotting position.
