आवाह क्षेत्र/ CATCHMENT AREA

किसी नदी के जल निकास बेसिन को नदी का आवाह क्षेत्र कहते है। आवाह क्षेत्र में वे सभी बिन्दु शामिल होते हैं जो किसी गेज स्टेशन के ऊपर तथा स्थलाकृतिक विभाजक, जो संलग्न जलविभाजकों को अलग करता है, के बीच स्थित हों।

The drainage basin of a river is called its catchment area. The catchment area includes all points that lie above the elevation of the gauging station and within the topographic divide that separate adjacent watersheds.
