सहजात जलः वह जल जो शैल (अवसादी या बहिर्वेधी आग्नेय) के अन्तराकाशों में शैल-पदार्थों के निक्षेपण के समय अन्तः पाशित हो गया है।
सहजात जलः वह जल जो अवसादी शैलों (sedimentary rocks) में उनकी रचना के समय से रह गया हो। यह जल शैलों के अंतरालों में भरा रहता है और उपरि संस्तरों की रचना के कारण ऊपर नहीं आ पाता।
