तीव्रता-अवधि-आवृति वक्र/ INTENSITY- DURATION- FREQUENCY CURVE

तीव्रता अवधि तथा प्रत्यागमन काल के बीच की निर्भरता को दर्शाने वाले वक्र। वृष्टि की अवधि बढ़ाने के साथ उसकी तीव्रता घट जाती है। साथ ही, किसी दी गयी अवधि की वृष्टि की तीव्रता अधिक होगी यदि इसका प्रत्यागमन काल अधिक लम्बा है।

The curves showing the interdependence between the intensity, duration and return period. The intensity of storms decreases with the increase in storage duration. Further, a storm of any given duration will have a larger intensity if its return period is large.
