वायुमण्डल में जलवाष्प की कुल मात्रा जिसे अवक्षेपण योग्य जल की गहराई के रूप में व्यक्त किया जाता है। यह शब्द अशुद्ध है क्योंकि कोई भी प्राकृतिक अवक्षेपण प्रक्रिया वायु से कुल आर्दता को दूर नहीं कर सकती।

It is the total amount of water vapors in the atmosphere, frequently expressed as depth of precitable water. This term is a misnomer, since no natural precipitation process removes all the moisture from the air.
